Measure 1 Details

A ‘No’ votes continues wasting millions of tax dollars for an unproven and expensive program, rampant with cronyism.

A ‘Yes’ vote will shut it down.

Wasted Funding

MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars have been spent on weather modification  (cloud seeding)  in Mountrail and Williiams counties yet farm hail rates have remained unchanged.

The only benefactor of this program is a private company out of Fargo called Weather Mod, Inc. Not only do they produce all of the materials used, but they are paid daily rate plus flight hours for 91 days.

Who is EWM?

North Dakotan’s End Weather Modification is a group of farmers, property owners, businessmen and women, parents, tax payers, and environmentalists using our voice to do many things. We’ve done the research and followed the money for you!

Some of our goals are:

✔ Defend the rights of the majority.
✔ Stop foolish government spending.
✔ Expose special interest cronyism within the weather modification (cloud seeding) program.
✔ Ensure that no further harm is done in the form of air, water, and land pollution via aerial distribution of heavy metals to the citizens      in enrolled and surrounding non-enrolled counties!!

Weather modification has been attempted for over 50 years across the USA. Only 4 out of a total 3,242 counties in the nation currently attempt to suppress hail — Ward County used to be one of them and Mountrail and Williams counties still are.

In the past, 37 North Dakota counties conducted weather modification. Due to a lack of results, that number has dwindled to what it is today. Multiple scientific bodies have stated that warm cloud seeding, such as is conducted in Ward County, has not been scientifically proven to accomplish anything.

However, it does cost taxpayers a LOT of money. If this program was as effective as it claims to be, every county that receives hail would participate. The only benefactor of this program is a company in Fargo – Weather Mod, Inc. Not only do they produce all of the materials used, but they are paid a base daily rate plus flight hours for 91 days.

If the weather modification program were to continue in Mountrail County and Williams County, we would spend MILLIONS of taxpayer money over MANY YEARS instead of putting that money to much needed infrastructure like schools or roads.

3,242 counties nationwide say NO

Only 4 continue to conduct hail suppression. (all 4 are in North Dakota) Consequently 3,238 wise county boards nationwide have found more prudent ways to appropriate their budgets.

No Study Can Prove It Works

The National Resource Council concluded in the largest study of weather modification ever, “there is zero proof hail can be suppressed.”
